The Divisional Forest Office, Paro organized Annual Rimdo today for the wellbeing of the staff of the Division. The Annual Rimdo was performed by monks from Rimpung Dratshang, presided by Lam Neten. The Annual Rimdo concluded with Ka-gog and Chabdro luung from Lam Neten 🙏🙏🙏🙏.

The Divisional Forest Office, Paro successfully concluded a three-day training on record and bookkeeping, attended by 30 participants (21 men and 9 women) representing 18 community forests and one non-wood forest product (NWFP) group from Paro Dzongkhag. The training is aimed to strengthen the capacity of executive members of community forests and NWFP groups, promoting good governance and sustainable resource management within the division. The training is funded by UNEP project.

The RBA of Shaba is one of the important conservation partners in combating forest fire in Paro Dzongkhag.

Paro Forest Division conducted a three-day technical training on Zamsa Nori Timber Extraction Plan inventory and inventory protocols from 3 to 5 February 2026 at Legphel Hotel, Phuentsholing, with participation of 21 forestry personnel from DFO_Paro Offices.
The training combined classroom sessions, field practice, and data management exercises to strengthen practical skills required for forest inventory and timber extraction planning.
Key highlights
• Technical sessions covered inventory concepts, sampling design, plot establishment, and measurement standards.
• Participants practiced navigation, plot layout, and measurement during intensive field exercises.
• Hands on training strengthened skills in using inventory equipment and mobile data collection applications.
• Sessions on data transfer, validation, and planning improved understanding of data handling and workflow.
• Group exercises promoted teamwork and problem solving during real field conditions.
The training enhanced technical confidence and consistency among field staff and supports improved forest inventory and timber extraction planning across Paro Division.
Paro Forest Division would like to convey our deepest appreciation to Forest Monitoring and Information Division for their technical support in field design and Forest Resources Planning and Management Division for their Financial support through World Bank Fund) and commitment shown by all participants and facilitators toward strengthening professional capacity in forest management.

The forest fire that broke out at Zankeypang in Tsento Gewog on 27 January 2026 has been successfully contained. Firefighters from the Paro Forest Division, Royal Bhutan Police (RBP), Bhutan Power Corporation (BPC), Royal Bhutan Army (RBA), Paro Dzongkhag Administration (PC), and local communities worked collaboratively to suppress the fire. The fire engine from the RBP and the water tanker from the RBA were particularly instrumental in the firefighting efforts.
