๐Ÿธ SDSA In-House Badminton Tournament

A two-day in-house badminton tournament was successfully organized by SDSA, with a total of 22 participants taking part. The tournament was played in a league-cum-knockout format, bringing together some exciting and memorable moments for everyone to cherish.

The event was graced by Dasho Dzongda, who presented the trophies to the winners and runners-up and congratulated the participants for their enthusiasm and sporting spirit.

The tournament was a wonderful opportunity to promote teamwork, camaraderie, healthy competition, and sportsmanship among the participants.
Congratulations to all the winners and participants, and a big appreciation to SDSA for organizing a memorable sporting event!

Grassroots U14 & U16 Football Tournament Kicks Off!
Organized by the Bhutan Football Federation (BFF) in collaboration with the Samtse Dzongkhag Sports Association, the Grassroots U14 & U16 tournament kicked off today across three clusters in Samtse, Tashichholing, and Dophuchen.

The tournament features five teams each in the girlsโ€™ and boysโ€™ categories, providing young players with an excellent platform to showcase their talent, build confidence, and enjoy the beautiful game.

โšฝ Samtse District League 2026 is officially underway! โšฝ

The Samtse District League kicked off on 5th September 2026 and will continue until the first week of October 2026. The league features 6 Womenโ€™s Teams and 7 Menโ€™s Teams, promising an exciting month of competitive football.

This District League is organized by the Bhutan Football Federation (BFF) with the support of the Samtse District Sports Association (SDSA).

Yesterday's matches brought plenty of excitement and thrilling football! Tendruk FC took on Business United Club in a highly competitive encounter, with the match ending in an exciting 3โ€“3 draw. Meanwhile, Peljorling HSS Club secured a convincing 2โ€“0 victory over Dramzap Club.

With many strong teams competing, this tournament promises to bring many more exciting matches, tough battles, and unforgettable moments in the weeks ahead. โšฝ๐Ÿ”ฅ

The Dzongkhag Administration, in collaboration with the Media and Democracy Club of Samtse Primary School, observed National Voterโ€™s Day 2026 at Samtse Primary School today under the themeโ€œReimagining Democracy:Celebrating Partnership, Inspiring Participationโ€, with the objective of promoting democratic values, civic awareness and meaningful participation among citizens, particularly the younger generation. The celebration was conducted in accordance with the directive of the Election Commission of Bhutan (ECB) to commemorate National Voterโ€™s Day across all 20 Dzongkhags, coinciding with the International Day of Democracy.
The event brought together students, teachers, and relevant officials to foster greater awareness and understanding the significance of democracy, elections, and responsible participation in the electoral process. The programme was designed around an interactive and participatory approach, providing participants with meaningful opportunities to develop and demonstrate their understanding of democratic principles through practical demonstrations, creative expression, educational games, and knowledge-based competitions.
As part of the celebration, participants engaged in a range of interactive activities, including a thumbprint pledge as a symbolic commitment to democratic participation, a Digital Quiz Competition, an Art Competition, and Civic Education through Gamification

Inauguration of Gangatey Bailey Bridge over Chebju River

A bigger milestone with an official inauguration of the new Gangatey Bailey Bridge over Chebju river on 14th September, 2026, transformed connectivity and safe transportation for the residents of Manigang-Tash*thang Chiwog.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by the Honโ€™ble Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, A representative of the Ambassador of India to Bhutan, Sr. Dasho Drungpa, Dasho OC of Tashicholing, Dzongkhag Thrizin, alongside key officials from the Dzongkhag and Gewog Administration.

Funded by the Government of India under the High Impact Community Development Project (HICDP-Phase I).
