Convened the 6th National Drug Task Force meeting this morning. We discussed expediting the operationalization of the identified rehabilitation school at Yonphula, establishing a world-class rehabilitation center, and extending full support to the implementing agencies. Addressing drug use is a national priority, and we are committed to tackling this issue with utmost urgency.

The 4th National Drug Task Force meeting was convened today. Chaired by Honโble Prime Minister, the Task Force directed the Ministry of Education and Skills Development to expedite the establishment of a specialized school at Yonphula by early July 2024. This school will cater to students dealing with substance use-related issues identified during the mass screening. In addition, the Task Force endorsed the comprehensive framework for the National Response to Address Substance Use Issues, together with the referral pathway for individuals who test positive for drugs.
