Thimphu Thromde would like to inform the general public and all road users that the existing bridge near Olakha Workshop has been damaged and is considered unsafe for vehicular traffic. In the interest of public safety, the bridge will therefore be closed with immediate effect.

To address the existing condition, a new Reinforced Cement Concrete (RCC) bridge is proposed at the same location. The Design and Build of the new 2 lane RCC bridge is scheduled to be tendered by October 2026. The existing bridge will remain closed until the new bridge is constructed and the route is declared safe for public use.

During the closure, motorists are requested to use the designated alternative route, follow traffic signs and instructions, and exercise caution near the area. Thimphu Thromde regrets the inconvenience caused and appreciates the cooperation and understanding of all road users.
