HONESTY THAT INSPIRES! 🇧🇹❤️

A Class X student, Damche Norbu of Lungtenzampa MSS, and his sister, Sonam Yuden, found an ash-coloured bag in the main town area of Thimphu on 16 October 2026. They handed it over to the Central Thimphu Police Station.

The bag contained Nu. 31,270 in old Bhutanese currency, Nu. 4,200 in new Bhutanese currency, INR 1,000 in Indian currency, and a CID card. After verification, the items were returned to the rightful owner.

Their honesty and sense of responsibility deserve great respect. They remind us that honesty has no age and that doing the right thing can make a big difference in society. Bhutan can be proud of such young citizens! ❤️🙏

AGAIN FLOOD IN NEPAL TODAY

A major flash flood in Nepal’s Budhi Gandaki River swept away more than 35 houses and three bridges in Gorkha district on Sunday, October 11, 2026.

The flood was reported around 4:00–4:35 AM Nepal time after a suspected landslide blockage near Chumnubri caused a sudden surge of water and debris. A hydropower project’s construction site was also damaged, and four herders were reported missing. Rescue teams have been deployed, while riverside residents have been warned to move to safer ground.

Snowfall reported in Naro Gewog, Bhutan ❄️

Naro Gewog is a remote, mountainous region in the north-central part of Thimphu District, Bhutan, within Lingzhi Dungkhag (sub-district). Located in the high Himalayas near the Tibet border, the region sits at elevations ranging from around 3,500 to over 5,000 metres above sea level. Known for its rugged mountains, deep valleys, alpine pastures and yak-herding communities, Naro is one of Bhutan’s remote highland regions.

A fire broke out at the Multi-Purpose Hall of Ugyen Academy in Punakha at around 2pm today.

The blaze is currently being battled. The fire is believed to have started from a power socket inside the hall, but the exact cause has not yet been confirmed.
