This inspiring initiative, known as "Gewa," was conceived by BSLY and suggested by our initial supporter, Dr. Dorji Wangchuk. Nature is not a landfill, and our roadsides are not dumping grounds. Let's show our respect for the environment by keeping our trash off the streets and in the proper bins.
Together, we can create a cleaner and more beautiful world for ourselves and future generations to enjoy.

Weekend Stars β¨
Today, a group of passionate volunteers from Bhutan Sharing and Loving Youth (BSLY) teamed up with some awesome school children to tackle a growing problem in our beautiful city: roadside littering. They rolled up their sleeves, put on their gloves, and got to work picking up over 30 sacks of waste that had been carelessly discarded by inconsiderate passersby.
But the mission doesn't end there. We want to urge the public to be more mindful of their waste disposal practices and not to litter our precious environment. Let's make sure that future generations get to enjoy the same pristine natural beauty that we have today!
We also want to give a big shout-out to Miss Hema Pradhan, Deya Bhutan Tours & Travel for her kind and thoughtful sponsorship of refreshments for the hardworking volunteers. It's people like her who inspire us to keep up the good work and strive to make a positive difference in our community.
BSLY volunteers and school children, thank you for your unwavering commitment to making a positive impact in our city. Keep up the great work, and let's continue to work together towards a cleaner, greener future for all of us!

π Introducing Weekend Stars! π
Weekend Stars is a project by Bhutan Sharing and Loving Youth that aims to inspire children and youth to engage in productive and meaningful activities during their weekends. Our mission is to transform weekends into meaningful moments by encouraging them to discover the joys and benefits of giving back to their communities and creating a more loving and caring society.
Through our project, participants will spend two to three hours every weekend involved in various social services, such as cleaning campaigns, flower plantations, serving snacks in chortens, lhakhangs, temples, and many others. We believe that such activities will instil a sense of responsibility and community spirit in children and youth, while also helping them develop important life skills, including teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.
Join us in creating Weekend Stars and let's work together to transform weekends into opportunities for children and youth to shine bright with productive activities! π«

International YOUTH day was celebrated today at Thimphu Residency in collaboration with Royal Society for Senior Citizens for and Young Bhutan Network - The Spirit of Youth to mark the theme Intergenerational Solidarity.
The celebration was joined by Director General and officials of DYS, Members from RSSC and youths from various Youth groups.
The collaboration was to narrow the gap between young people & old age and to match the theme of IYD 2022 practically.
The program was scheduled in the afternoon where the youth from various groups has arranged and performed many programs amongst which the panel discussion between the elderly and youth was remarkable whereby better education and communication between the two generations would be best solution to narrow the gap.
The youth groups based in Thimphu has displayed wall exhibition to showcase their various activities to the audience present. Similarly BSLY has also displayed the activities and received appreciation as we have already created bond with RSSC.
The program was insightgful and youth engaging, such programs happened smoothly after the 2 years of pandemic. The program ended with Tashi Lebey.
