A Heartfelt Gratitude for the Gift of Healthy Smiles

Samtengang Central School, Campus II, would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who made the two-day Dental Treatment Programme a meaningful and successful initiative for our learners.

First and foremost, we extend our deepest appreciation to Dasho Wangchuk Namgyel, former Speaker of the National Assembly of Bhutan, who once served as a teacher and continues to hold a special place in his heart for children and their well-being. His thoughtful initiative reflects his enduring love, care, and commitment towards the younger generation. We are truly grateful for his kindness and for remembering the needs of our young learners.

We would also like to convey our sincere gratitude to Major Jacqueline and her dedicated Dental team from Project DANTAK for their selfless service, patience, and compassionate care throughout the two-day dental treatment programme. Their dedication to providing much-needed dental care and treatment to our learners reflects their genuine concern for the health and well-being of our children. Beyond treating dental problems, they brought comfort, reassurance, and smiles to our young learners. We are deeply grateful for the time, effort, and kindness they extended to our school community.

Our sincere appreciation also goes to Samtengang Primary Health Centre (PHC) for their valuable support and cooperation in making this programme possible. Their willingness to extend a helping hand reflects the beautiful spirit of community care and the shared responsibility of ensuring the health and well-being of our children.

For many of our children, this was not just a dental checkup but an opportunity to learn, smile, and experience the warmth of people who genuinely care about their health and happiness.

A healthy smile is a precious gift, and behind every smile is an act of kindness.

A Heartfelt Farewell to Our Beloved Cook, Gyeltshen

Some goodbyes are harder than others, especially when we are saying farewell to someone who has become a part of our school family.

Yesterday, Samtengang Central School, Campus II, gathered with heavy hearts and warm memories to bid farewell to our beloved cook, Mr. Gyeltshen, who has dedicated five wonderful years of his life to serving our school.

For five years, he did more than prepare meals. He served with love, patience, dedication, and care, making sure our children were fed and looked after. Behind every meal was his hard work, and behind that hard work was a heart committed to the well-being of our learners.

His contributions may not always have been seen in classrooms or celebrated on stages, but they were felt every single day. He has been an important part of our school family, and his absence will surely be felt in the days ahead.

As we bid him farewell, we do so with hearts full of gratitude and memories that will remain with us.

Farewell, Gyeltshen. You will be dearly missed, and we wish you happiness, good health, and success wherever life takes you.

Samtengang Central School, Campus II, observed Global Handwashing Day with the aim of promoting good hygiene practices and raising awareness about the importance of washing hands with soap and clean water.

Through this observance, our young learners were reminded that handwashing is a simple yet powerful habit that helps prevent diseases and keeps us healthy.

The day encouraged our children to develop healthy hygiene habits and take responsibility for their own well-being and that of others.

Samtengang Central School, Campus II, came alive with energy and enthusiasm as our young champions took to the field to celebrate Annual Sports Day 2026. From cheerful smiles and determined little faces to thrilling races and heartwarming moments of teamwork, every moment was a celebration of childhood, courage, and togetherness.

An SRDP session was successfully conducted at Samtengang Central School, Campus II, facilitated by Mr. Sonam Gyeltshen, School Counsellor of Campus I.

The session included students of Classes IV–VI along with the staff of Campus II, creating a meaningful space for learning, reflection, and personal growth. The session provided valuable guidance and encouraged participants to develop positive attitudes, self-awareness, and responsible decision-making.

Earthquake Mock Drill – Campus II

Today, our school successfully conducted an Earthquake Mock Drill at Campus I to prepare our students and staff to respond safely and calmly during an earthquake.

The drill provided everyone with practical experience in following safety procedures, evacuating safely, and gathering at the designated assembly area.

A special thank you to our Disaster Focal Person for coordinating and guiding the mock drill effectively. We also appreciate the cooperation of all our teachers, staff, and students in making the exercise successful.

Preparedness today can save lives tomorrow.
