Offering photographic experiences of a lifetime! We are located in the heart of Mashatu Game Reserve.

Mashatu Game Reserve is situated at the confluence of the great Limpopo and Shashe Rivers in the remote eastern corner of Botswana. This area is known historically as the Tuli Enclave and it is here where the three countries; Botswana, South Africa and Zimbabwe meet.

The big cats of Mashatu.

Three predators. Three different strategies for survival.

Leopards move unseen, lions rely on strength and social bonds, and cheetahs are built for speed. Together, they represent the incredible diversity of predator behavior found across Mashatu’s landscapes.

A leopard above, a baboon below. Two species sharing the same landscape, each relying on sharp senses and constant awareness to survive.

For wildlife photographers, Mashatu's diverse habitats create opportunities to capture not only iconic subjects but the relationships and tension that exist between predator and prey in the natural world.

Strength, patience, and a watchful gaze.

This female cheetah pauses for a moment of calm in Mashatu. Having successfully raised four cubs, she represents a remarkable achievement in a landscape where survival is never guaranteed. Her story is one of resilience, attentive motherhood, and the determination required to guide four young cubs to independence.

Lights, cameras, and elephants.

At the Lala Limpopo Sleep-Out Hide, the night belongs to the elephants. From the comfort of this overnight photographic hide, guests can photograph these giants as they arrive at the waterhole after dark, while specialized lighting techniques reveal every texture, interaction, and moment.

A glimpse through the undergrowth. Young leopards learn early that survival depends on remaining unseen, and Mashatu's diverse habitats offer endless opportunities to photograph these behaviors in a natural setting.

A lioness calls to her pride, her mother, and three sub-adult sons, with a roar that carries across the landscape. Her mother responds from the distance, but the exchange also catches the attention of Scar, a resident male. Knowing they are in his territory, the pride wastes little time moving on.

Morning in the green shrubland: elephant calves move playfully through the fresh landscape while nearby, lion cubs pause their grooming just long enough to stare straight into Joe’s lens.

Two family scenes. Two different energies. One uninterrupted view into the life on the Mashatu plains.
