SECOND FRANCISTOWN BONNO TURNKEY HOUSE HANDOVER
The City of Francistown Council, in collaboration with the Botswana Housing Corporation, has successfully completed and handed over the second Turnkey House under the Bonno National Housing Programme to Ms. Kefeletswe Orapetswe at Plot No. 36173, Gerald Estates, Francistown.
The handover is more than just a house, it is part of a national effort to provide affordable housing to Batswana, promoting dignified living and increased home ownership. The milestone reflects the Council's continued commitment to improving access to decent and affordable housing for residents.
The Bonno Turnkey House Project continues to play a significant role in enhancing quality of life and promoting sustainable community development.
The beneficiary pays a loan amount of P90, 000.00, in a period of the maximum of 20 years at 0% interest. The minimum loan installment is P375.00 per month, with a default penalty of 10% interest on overdue payments.

To qualify for the Bonno Turnkey Development Loan Scheme, applicants must:
* Be a citizen of Botswana, aged 18 years and above
* Own an undeveloped land that meets the following criteria:
โฆ Fenced
โฆ Cleared of vegetation (debushed)
โฆ Temporary store-room
โฆ Connected to a water supply
Required Application Documents:
1. Legal proof of plot ownership (title deed, customary land grant, lease, COR).
2. Certified copy of Omang.
3. Proof of source of income (pay-slip or bank statement).
4. Documentation of marital status (marriage certificate, affidavit, or decree absolute).
5. Spouse consent letter ( where applicable).
6. Three months' bank statements for self-employed applicants.
7. Home Improvement Documentation: Approved as-built house plan.
8. Farmers: branding certificate &livestock census.

SECOND ROUND NATIONWIDE ORAL POLIO VACCINATION CAMPAIGN
The Ministry of Local Government and Traditional Affairs (MLGTA) in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MoH) wishes to inform members of the public that the second round of the National Oral Polio Vaccination Campaign using Novel Oral Polio Vaccine Type 2 (nOPV2 will be conducted nationwide from 8th to 11th June 2026.
The campaign aims to protect all children under five years (0 โ 59 months) against poliomyelitis (polio), a highly infectious disease that can cause permanent paralysis and disability. Furthermore, it seeks to strengthen population immunity and prevent the potential spread of the virus particularly among vulnerable children.
The campaign will be delivered by trained vaccination teams identifiable by name tags through house-to-house visits and other selected vaccination sites such as health facilities and at locations where children commonly gather, such as daycare centres, to ensure that every eligible child is reached.
The Ministry encourages parents and caregivers to present the following children for vaccination:
โข All children who received the oral polio vaccine during the first round of the campaign.
โข All children under five years (0โ59 months ) who missed vaccination during the first round.

The City of Francistown Council (COFC) wishes to inform members of the public that installation of the Solar streetlights is ongoing across the City of Francistown.
COFC further remind the public that Electrical Artisans have been contracted under Labour- Only Contract to undertake the removal of existing wooden poles and installation of GRP poles and streetlights across the City.
