High Commissioner Shope-Soumah's farewell dinner with the Working Committee of the South African Business Forum (SABF).

It is always a great pleasure to give a child an opportunity to fulfil their dream. This is Thompson, the son of one of the ladies who works at the Official Residence of South Africa in Gaborone. I got to find out that his dream, since a young age, was to be a pilot. So, with the very loving cooperation of SAA in Botswana, Mr Fred Mac Donald and Team, agreed to my request to have the young man visit the SSKI Airport. He had never been to an airport before. Also, what really made me bow down to SAA staff Gaborone was when they agreed to make the young man visit the cockpit of one of our flights. SAA, you have no idea, what you have done for this young champ. It is our responsibility to guide, groom, lead our young ones. Also, I know that one day, this young lad will be one of the leading pilots of Zimbabwe. He is of Zimbabwean nationality.

Once again, SAA, thank you for caring for our young ones.They are the future of our continent. They will take care of us when we are much older. I have requested him to write his own story, in his own words.
