Update: Water Supply Restored in Gumare and Tubu
Water supply to Gumare and Tubu has been fully restored following repairs to a pipeline damaged through vandalism.
Investigations revealed that a sharp object and stone were used to deliberately damage the pipeline, disrupting water services to the two communities.
Water Utilities Corporation (WUC) strongly condemns vandalism of water infrastructure and urges the public to help protect these critical assets. Such acts affect entire communities, including hospitals, schools, clinics, businesses, and households.
We continue to appeal to all citizens to report any suspicious activities involving WUC infrastructure. Protecting our water infrastructure is a shared responsibility to ensure reliable water supply for all.
We thank our maintenance team for their responsiveness in restoring water.
Condemn Vandalism of Water Infrastructure
We appeal to all members of the community to join us in condemning and reporting any acts of vandalism against water infrastructure.
We are currently experiencing low water pressure to no water supply in Gumare and Tubu villages due to vandalism on the pipeline between the Gumare Water Treatment Plant and the Gumare village tanks, which supply these areas with water.
Such acts not only damage critical infrastructure but also disrupt essential water services, affecting households, businesses, schools, and healthcare facilities. Water infrastructure belongs to all of us, and its protection is a shared responsibility.
We urge anyone with information regarding these acts of vandalism to report it to the relevant authorities immediately. Together, we can help safeguard our water supply systems and ensure reliable service delivery for our communities.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused and appreciate your patience and understanding as efforts are underway to restore normal water supply.
Further updates on water restoration will be provided as more information becomes available.
