**The spirit of Yoga shines brighter than the winter chill!**
Despite the inclement weather and the cold morning in Gaborone, many yoga enthusiasts came together with remarkable enthusiasm to celebrate the 12th International Day of Yoga (IDY) 2026, reaffirming that the pursuit of health, harmony and inner peace knows no boundaries.
We were deeply honoured by the gracious presence of H.E. Ms Wenyan Yang, United Nations Resident Coordinator, as the Guest of Honour and the participation of the German Ambassador, members of the diplomatic corps, the local community, ICCR and ITEC alumni, members of the Indian community, yoga practitioners, and friends of India.
Celebrated under the global theme โYoga for Healthy Ageingโ, this yearโs IDY highlighted the role of Yoga in helping us maintain strength, balance, resilience, and vitality at every stage of life.
As we marked the 12th International Day of Yoga, we were reminded once again that while Yoga was born in India, it belongs to all of humanity. Guided by the timeless philosophy of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam โ the world is one family โ Yoga continues to unite people across cultures, nations, and communities.
May the message of Yoga continue to inspire us โ not only today, but every day.
