𝐁𝐃𝐏 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 “𝐄𝐥𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐚𝐫” 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞

In the run up to the 2019 general elections. President Masisi promised to ensure that Botswana will manufacture electric cars. He further promised that the project, together with its support industries, will deliver over 100,000 jobs.

𝑀𝑝ℎ𝑜 𝐵𝑎𝑙𝑜𝑝𝑖 (𝐵𝐷𝑃 𝑆𝑒𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑡𝑎𝑟𝑦 𝐺𝑒𝑛𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑙) 𝑎𝑛𝑛𝑜𝑢𝑛𝑐𝑒𝑑 𝑡𝑜𝑑𝑎𝑦 𝑖𝑛 𝑃𝑎𝑟𝑙𝑖𝑎𝑚𝑒𝑛𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐵𝐷𝑃 ℎ𝑎𝑠 𝑑𝑒𝑙𝑖𝑣𝑒𝑟𝑒𝑑 𝑜𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑒𝑙𝑒𝑐𝑡𝑟𝑖𝑐 𝑐𝑎𝑟 𝑝𝑟𝑜𝑚𝑖𝑠𝑒. He was kind enough to share pictures of the electric car and advised that the plant is located in Mogoditshane. Next week, I will visit the plant and hopefully get to test drive the electric car. I will share my experience and details of the number of jobs created.
