A winning spirit speaks on victories. I was young when an incredulous relative incited to my parents that I could only open my eyes when I was indoors, much to my parents's dismay. We consulted with a doctor and it was discovered that I had Glaucoma and we started on treatment. In 2014 I decided to stop receiving treatment, my sight had gone for a toss, my eyes were pricked at for way to long and they were worsening.
Needless to say my true healing had began. Accepting my inability to see allowed me to do so much with my life. I worked on my confidence over the years and now I am an advocate for people living with blindness. I do so many social services, I am always seeking for platforms to network, socialize and break stereotypes about myths centered around disabilities.We are not insignificant, fact check; there are millions of us all over the world living boldly with blindness.
The public is always curious about our abilities, just like any other ordinary human being I tend to questions asked out of outmost respect and genuinety. Studying at Limkokwing Creative Arts Institute for a Degree in Journalism is an extension of my legacy as Boago. Education is a right that everybody deserves and I am thankful that my limitation pushed me into purpose.
