The Belize Port Authority is proud to stand alongside our national representatives at the 34th Session of the Assembly, where Belize reaffirmed its commitment to global maritime governance and the advancement of safe, secure, and sustainable shipping.

We commend Hon. Michel Chebat for delivering Belize’s National Statement and highlighting the importance of collaboration, innovation, and shared responsibility in strengthening the maritime sector. His message reflects the core values and priorities that guide our work as the nation’s maritime regulator.

Belize remains focused on partnering with Member States, the IMO Secretariat, and industry stakeholders to:
•Safeguard life at sea
•Protect our marine environment
•Advance an inclusive and credible pathway to net-zero emissions

The Belize Port Authority is committed to supporting these national objectives as we work toward a safer, greener, and more resilient future for global shipping.
We also extend recognition to the Belizean delegation in attendance: Hon. Michel Chebat; Her Excellency Ms. Cherie Nisbet, High Commissioner of Belize to the United Kingdom; Ports Commissioner Mr. Kaylon Young; Director of Technical & Seafarer Services Eduardo Simon; and Technical & Seafarer Manager Anique Sabal both from Immarbe Belize.
