The Second Belize Road Safety Initiative
Our main aim is to improve the road safety culture in Belize using a multisectoral approach.
Spotlight Fridays!!
Today we want to shine the spotlight on a road safety animated video created by Sebastian Collado, a 4th form student from Alvin L. Young Nazarene High School, in San Jose Succotz Village.
We are delighted that Mr. Collado chose to create a video addressing the consequences of speeding and improper overtaking. It is good to know that the issues we face are not going unoticed by our younger generation. Earlier this year Collado was also recognized and awarded for his visual arts skills, by the Department of Youth Services.
We want to thank his teacher Mr. Jeavon Blancaneauex for reaching out to us, and we want to applaud the school for their animation program that is yielding great results! Keep up the great work and kudos to Mr. Collado as we at the project here are always big on creative activism. You have a great future ahead of you, stay the course and all the best to the other great animators coming up from the school.
Thank you to everybody who supports the messages. Road User Education and Awareness is a big part of what we do, and that is in an effort to change the mindset of our fellow Belizean road users in regard to using the road properly, and in a courteous way. We share our sincere condolences to all families who has ever lost a loved one to road traffic incidents; and it is with that in mind, we try our best to spread education through our jingles and other educational resources. Thank you to everybody sharing, because road safety is everybody's business!!

Breaking the new road safety regulations isn’t just risky—it’s punishable by law. From speeding to distracted driving and failing to buckle up, violations will result in fines or even prison time.
⚠️ Drive responsibly, obey the rules, and protect lives. Don’t let one bad choice cost you or others.
