📑 STATEMENT: Ministry Addresses Accident Involving School Bus in Toledo District
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology confirms that on Monday, 1 June 2026, a school bus assigned to transport students of Julian Cho Technical High School was involved in an accident, just outside of Pueblo Viejo Village in the Toledo District. Approximately 32 students were on board at the time of the incident, including students from the Toledo ITVET.
Four students were transported to the San Antonio Polyclinic for treatment of minor injuries. The remaining students were transferred to another bus.
The Ministry is grateful that no serious injuries have been reported and extends its support to the students, families, and school community. An investigation is underway to establish all the facts surrounding the incident, and the Ministry will continue to work closely with the school community to provide any additional support that may be needed.
The safety and well-being of students remain our highest priority.

The Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Technology is proud to have partnered in the construction of a new school building at Corazon Creek Technical High School. This investment marks another step forward in expanding access to quality education and creating greater opportunities for the students and wider indigenous community of Corazon Creek.
Constructed through the efforts of the Belize Social Investment Fund, Caribbean Development Bank and the Government of Belize, the new facility will provide an improved learning environment that supports academic growth, technical training, and student development.
As an EUp School, Corazon Creek Technical High School benefits from a comprehensive initiative aimed at reducing barriers to education through support for tuition, transportation, uniforms, learning resources, meals, and improvements to school infrastructure. The addition of this new building further enhances the school’s ability to provide a safe, modern, and empowering environment for teaching and learning.
