This week, the Belize Bureau of Standards welcomed Mr. Theodore Reddock, Technical Consultant. Mr. Reddock delivered a training to our Industrial Metrology Unit on method validation, measurement uncertainty, quality control and proficiency.

The BBS Volume Laboratory is benefitting under the "Prepare Conformity Assessment Bodies for Accreditation" activity being undertaken as part of the Technical Barriers to Trade (TBT) Phase III Project. ISO/IEC 17025:2017 accreditation is targeted for August 2027.

It’s Metrology Monday!

Metrology = measurement. You use it several times before going to work:

1. 6:00 AM – Your alarm clock. Time is measured so work and school all sync up
2. 6:15 AM – Coffee. You measure scoops so it tastes right.
3. 6:30 AM – Shower. Water meter tracks usage so your bill is fair.
4. 7:30 AM – Driving. Speedometer, gas pump, tire pressure. All measurements keep you safe.
