Some of the most important work in our community happens quietly, behind the scenes.

In our latest CDH Member Story, Marcus Logan of Oakville Public Library shares the often-unseen work behind the Halton Community Services Directory—and how trusted information helps people find their way to support.

When someone needs food support, housing assistance, or mental health services, finding the right help can make all the difference.

At Community Development Halton, we see every day how nonprofits shape the life of our community.
Across Halton, nonprofits and community organizations create spaces where people can connect, take part, support one another, and help shape the communities they call home.
Their work is woven into everyday life — through the programs we join, the services we rely on, the causes we care about, and the ways we come together as neighbours.
Part of our work at Community Development Halton is helping people better understand how Halton is changing. Through our Community Data Watch research, we look at the trends shaping our region — from population growth and housing to diversity, health, homelessness, and changing community needs. Good local data helps organizations plan services, understand where needs are emerging, advocate for change, and make informed decisions for the people they serve.
Over the coming weeks, we’ll be sharing more about the many ways nonprofits are already part of our lives — often in ways we may not even realize.
Because when we understand our communities better, we can build stronger, more responsive communities together.
You’re already part of it!
