📚 Today is Canadian Library Workers' Day - a day for Canadians to recognize the valuable contributions made by all those who work in and for the public libraries that are integral to our communities. 📚
Libraries are more than just a place to find books, libraries promote cultural awareness, engage in the community, provide educational programs, support freedom of expression and so much more!
It feels like it is just the perfect day to showcase our staff, and highlight the individual ways that we all contribute to make our great library run.
While neither our Director or our Library Pages may not be featured in the group photo, they are part of our team, and very important ones. You will see them featured in the individual parts of the series.
Here at SCRL Altona, we are a tight-knit crew of ladies. We often admit openly, that where one lacks, the other picks up. And, individually, we all have a few tasks that one person loves to do, that the others loathe. We are joined by a love of stories, people, and the desire to serve.
We have worked together, cried together, joked together, and we are constantly laughing together.
** Different strengths, different stories, different book shelves, and one INCREDIBLE team! **
Here at SCRL Altona, our personalities shine through as we do the one thing that we all collectively enjoy the most - serving the public.
And our crew is the first to say that here in our library, people come first - and books come second. ❤
