The EMS situation is critical especially in our community. We are proud to work alongside side our EMS partners. Did you know we recruit medical personnel, people who are interested in serving the community but not as a firefighter. Inquire via PM, or stop in any Thursday evening from 6-9pm for more information.

FIRE IS HELPING EMS CARRY A LOAD THAT’S TOO DAMN HEAVY.

Another overdose. Another crew sent. Another person who needs help right now.

Firefighter Paramedics are helping EMS handle the volume. More hands to give Narcan, get equipment ready and help keep someone alive.

That teamwork matters. So does what’s making it necessary.

EMS is overrun. And while crews are working an overdose, the calls keep coming.

Chest pain. A crash. Someone’s dad collapsed on the kitchen floor.
Every one of them needs help. None of them can wait for the system to catch its breath.

It’s easy to say, “That’s what they signed up for.”

They signed up to help people. That doesn’t make their time, energy or ability to keep carrying this unlimited.

You can care about the person you’re treating and still be exhausted by the volume. You can be proud of saving a life and frustrated that your crew barely gets a minute before the next call.

Both can be true.

Fire and EMS keep showing up for each other and their patients.

But “they always find a way” cannot keep being our staffing plan.

Give them enough people. Give patients somewhere to turn before the next overdose. Give responders support they can actually access.

We depend on these crews when someone stops breathing.

We need to listen when they tell us they’re struggling to catch their own breath.

Always keep your doors closed when you can. It significantly slows the spread of fire.
