To our Nuxalk family,

Our hearts are broken. These past few days have brought tragedy to our community, and families among us are living through things no family should ever have to face. There are no words big enough for this.

We are hurting. Please don't sit alone with it. Reach out to family and friends.

The youth centre will be open 24/7 today. We’ll be making cedar roses, brushing, and food will be available. Donations are welcome any time. You are welcome to come when you can.

The Band Office is able to connect you with support services and resources. Here is contact information for when you need help.

Out of love and respect for the community members directly affected, please be careful with what we share, both in person and online. We will let people tell their own stories in their own time.

We will share more about arrangements as we hear updates from the families.

Smaw Ti Slq-ilh, you are loved.
