Practice this week was more heavy extrication training. Our firefighters faced a complicated scenario with a passenger vehicle under a heavy truck. This scenario required lifting of the truck to give access for extrication of the two "dummy" passengers in the vehicle.

Great work by everyone!!

🚒 LIVE BURN Training Exercise 🔥

This afternoon between 12:30PM and 3:00PM our fire crews will be conducting a LIVE BURN training exercise here in Bow Island. This is a planned, controlled training and is located near 12th Ave East and Industrial Ave East.

We appreciate your patience and support as our crews train to better serve the community. If you see smoke or emergency vehicles, there is no cause for alarm—this is a scheduled exercise.

Thank you for helping us keep our community safe!

Monday night's practice was another night of rural water supply and fire attack training. We were privileged to have several members of Burdett Fire and Rescue join the training along with their Tender.
Firefighters set up water shuttling to portable tanks, drafting, and relay pumping to a fire attack engine. These tactics are essential for attacking rural structure fires.
Great work everyone!!
