RIDING FOR THE FALLEN 🚲❤️

We were honoured to host members of the Toronto Professional Fire Fighters Celtic Society Memorial Bike Ride as they passed through Brighton yesterday morning on their way to the Canadian Firefighter Memorial in Ottawa.

The ride supports the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation which raises funds for an endowment fund to provide scholarships and bursaries to the children of Canadian firefighters with special emphasis on those who are the children of a firefighter whose line of duty death has been recognized by the Foundation.

A ceremony for the fallen is hosted by the Foundation in Ottawa on the 2nd Sunday of September.

The ride, led by the Toronto Professional Firefighter Celtic Society, started in Hamilton on Wednesday and will end in Ottawa today as the riders cover almost 550km.

BRIGHTON FIRE AND RESCUE REMEMBERS 9/11 🕯️

On this day, we honor the memory of all those who were lost on September 11, 2001, and pay tribute to the heroes who answered the call without hesitation.

We remember the 343 firefighters, 60 police officers, and thousands of civilians whose lives were taken that day. Their courage and sacrifice remain a lasting example of service above self.

Their legacy continues to guide the fire service, reminding us of the responsibility and privilege of serving our communities each day.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget.

Brighton Fire and Rescue is proud to be es**rting riders participating in the 2026 Toronto Professional Fire Fighters Celtic Society Memorial Bike Ride which will make it's way through Brighton on Thursday, September 10th.

The Toronto Professional Fire Fighters Celtic Society Memorial Bike Ride is an annual cycling event that raises awareness and funds for the Canadian Fallen Firefighters Foundation. BRIGHTON FIRE AND RESCUE ARE KAY STAFFORD FUND RECIPIENTS 🤝

Brighton Fire and Rescue was honoured to receive funding from the Kay Stafford Fund to purchase first aid supplies for our Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV).

Established in 1997, the Kay Stafford Fund has supported more than 50 projects that either enhance services at Trenton Memorial Hospital or help keep our community healthy and out of the hospital.

Thanks to this funding, our UTV is now fully outfitted with essential first aid equipment, further strengthening our ability to provide immediate care when and where it is needed most.

Adding a well-equipped first aid kit to a first responder vehicle significantly improves patient care by enabling responders to provide effective treatment before patients arrive at Trenton Memorial Hospital. With critical supplies readily available, responders can quickly control bleeding, stabilize injuries, monitor vital signs, and address other urgent medical needs at the scene or during transport. This early intervention can reduce complications, improve patient stabilization, and help ensure patients arrive at the hospital in the best possible condition for advanced medical care.

We are grateful to the Kay Stafford Fund for its continued commitment to improving community health and supporting organizations that make a meaningful difference in the lives of local residents 🏥
