For this month's CUPian Spotlight, meet Liz, CUPS' CAMPP Health Navigator!

"Hi! My name is Liz and I've been at CUPS for 13 years. I am the Health Navigator for the CAMPP team. We provide support for clients that have been diagnosed with a life-limiting illness.

What I love about my role are the clients. It is amazing how unique everyone's journey is.

A fun fact about me is that when I first started at CUPS, I was an MOA and worked in the lab for 6 years before starting with CAMPP.

I also have never missed an episode of Coronation Street and have been faithfully watching it for 30 years."

Today is World Food Day.

An important reminder that access to nutritious food is a basic need, yet food insecurity remains a reality for vulnerable Calgarians.

At CUPS, we provide around 120 bagged lunches every day to those who come through our doors.

We also provide snacks and meals to families accessing programming at our family and child development centre, and we ensure everyone we support has connections and referrals to ongoing food resources.

Because food security goes beyond meals. It provides and solidifies dignity, health, and well-being for our community.

Learn more about the Prenatal Outreach Support Team (POST) - CUPS is proud to be part of this amazing partnership.

Every child deserves a safe start. 💙

This Child Abuse Prevention Month, we're highlighting the Prenatal Outreach Support Team (POST), a partnership between Kindred Connections Society, CUPS Calgary & the Calgary Police Service. POST provides support to vulnerable pregnant individuals & new parents.

There have been over 100 referrals to POST so far in 2026.

One woman came to POST while experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, & domestic abuse, all while preparing to welcome her third child. Through consistent support including weekly check-ins, connections to housing, healthcare & community resources, she began taking meaningful steps toward stability.

Despite facing significant barriers, she remained committed to creating a better future for her children. Today, she is safely caring for her children, has strong supports in place, and is thriving as a parent.

Her story is a powerful reminder that small steps can lead to life-changing outcomes. By supporting parents, POST helps create safer, healthier futures for children.­­

October 10th is World Homeless Day, an important day to raise awareness, challenge misconceptions and deepen our understanding. At CUPS, we recognize that homelessness and health are deeply interconnected. We've shared just a few examples but the realities are far more complex.

This World Homeless Day we encourage our community to reflect on how we can all work together to challenge misconceptions, break down barriers, and better support those in our community experiencing homelessness.

Last week, some of our senior clients from our Community Development Housing Program got to visit River Cross Ranch. They were able to spend time with miniature horses, do crafts, and enjoy a delicious lunch. It was amazing to see our senior clients engage so meaningfully with the staff and the whole experience.

A big thank you to River Cross Ranch for hosting us, they made our visit spectacular from start to finish.
