Today is a celebration of what becomes possible when organizations come together with a shared vision and a shared commitment to community.
Eighteen months after groundbreaking, the ribbon was cut on the Whitehorn Family Housing project. Today wouldn't have happened without the collaboration, compassion and leadership of Inn from the Cold, Miskanawah and HomeSpace Society whose partnership helped bring this project to life.

Meet Youth Central, our Volunteer Group of the Month! They have been volunteering with Inn from the Cold since Spring 2012, helping create meaningful experiences for youth while supporting families in our community with care and compassion.
They shared that one of the most rewarding parts of volunteering has been connecting with families during meal services and birthday celebrations. Seeing the appreciation and kindness from families has left a lasting impact on the youth volunteers, helping them grow through empathy, teamwork, and community connection.
Thank you to Youth Central and all of the youth volunteers who continue to show up with generosity and heart. We’re so grateful to have you as part of the Inn from the Cold community. To learn more about volunteering, visit https://innfromthecold.org/volunteer/

When families have nowhere else to turn, our Shelter team is there—providing safety, stability and the support needed to begin again. From a secure place to stay to daily meals and essential supplies, every detail is designed to help families move forward together.
“I just want to thank everyone for the care and support. My main focus now is settling in, finding work, and ensuring my family adjusts well to life here in Canada.”
This is what it means to have a safe place to land—and a path ahead.

You can double the impact of your donations this month through our A Village Can campaign!
Until June 7th, donations will be matched dollar for dollar, thanks to the generosity of The INN’s villagers. That means double the warm meals, double the warm beds, and double the good feeling you have knowing you helped a family who needed support!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers and mother figures in our community!
Today, we’re reflecting on the many forms care can take — from mothers building new beginnings for their children to the community that surrounds them with support.
Our latest blog shares a powerful story of resilience, culture and connection.

Today on National Child & Youth Mental Health Day, we’re reminded that every child and young person deserves the opportunity to feel safe and supported.
At Inn from the Cold, we see how stable housing, connection, and compassionate support can make a meaningful difference for children, youth, and families navigating difficult times. Mental health is shaped not only by what someone is going through, but by whether they have a community that helps them feel seen, cared for, and supported along the way.
As Ty Larner from our Health and Wellness Team shares, supporting the developing mind means creating environments where children and youth can grow, heal, and thrive.
We encourage conversations that reduce stigma, build understanding, and remind young people that they do not have to face challenges alone.

Today, on Red Dress Day, we honour the lives of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and Two-Spirit people.
Red dresses, often displayed unworn, serve as powerful reminders of those who are no longer with us. They represent loss, resilience and the ongoing call for justice.
This day is a time to listen, to learn and to reflect on the roles we each play in building safer communities. It is also a time to lift up Indigenous voices and support the families and communities who continue to seek answers and accountability.
We remember. We stand in solidarity. And we commit to meaningful change.
