We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Baillie, one of our beloved CAN-TF2 canines.

For nearly 15 years, Baillie served alongside her handler, Kit, with dedication, skill, and heart. Her contributions to the team and the communities we serve will not be forgotten. Many will remember Baillie’s personality during training, whether gently herding the group, or turning anything thrown into an instant game of fetch.

Beyond her work, Baillie was a loyal companion and true partner. Our thoughts are with Kit as he navigates this loss.

Rest easy, Baillie. 🐾

Today marks the 10-year anniversary of the Horse River wildfire. Our thoughts are with the communities in the Fort McMurray region, and all of the people affected by this monumental wildfire in Alberta’s history.

Alberta Wildfire used the experience of fighting the devastating 2016 wildfire to make changes in the way we respond to wildfires.

Over the past decade, Alberta Wildfire has worked closely with the Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo and Indigenous communities to enhance wildfire resilience.

Today, Alberta Wildfire is focused on partnerships to ensure we have a unified wildfire approach and response in the event of a wildfire.

This weekend’s Recruit Camp wrapped up an intensive few days of training, teamwork, and evaluation. We are proud of the commitment and effort shown throughout.
