It’s going to be a beautiful weekend! Enjoy the warm weather and stay safe!
We are very excited for the first hot-weather weekend and look forward to seeing many of you out enjoying our parks and water ways. Thank you to Kristopher Andres (https://www.instagram.com/kristopherandres/) for capturing this great photo of the Marine Unit out on the Bow last weekend.
The rivers are still running high, fast and cold due to spring run off so keep your eyes open and play safe! Here are a few things to remember if you are heading out to our rivers this weekend:
- Physical distancing rules still apply, even on river vessels.
- You will need a properly fitting PFD, a bailing device, a sound signaling device such as a whistle, and a 15-meter emergency throw rope that floats.
- No alcohol or drugs are allowed on the river.

“We must ensure the sacrifices we have already made are not wasted. To be successful, we must stay vigilant to slow the spread: follow public health measures, practice physical distancing and good hygiene, and continue acting responsibly.”
Here’s a link to Alberta’s strategy with the guidelines needed for a safe and successful reopening of our province.
