Fresh walls, warm welcome. 🎨

A few weeks ago, a team from Borouge International rolled up their sleeves and repainted our Ogden office, thanks to United Way of Calgary and Area .

Ogden is one of our busiest spaces. Every week, people come through those doors for food, clothing and a bit of help getting through a hard stretch. Walking into a bright, cared-for space tells them they matter.

Thank you to every volunteer who picked up a brush, and to United Way for making the connection. 🧡

Have you ever volunteered with your workplace? What did you do?

Your gift just got twice as powerful. 🧡

One of our major donors has committed a $250,000 matching gift to HELP US RISE, our campaign for a permanent home for Rise Calgary. Eligible gifts are matched while matching funds remain.

That means a $50 gift becomes $100. A $100 gift becomes $200.

Swipe to hear why our donor is giving. →

Every dollar helps us put down roots, so more of our budget goes to helping Calgarians catch up on rent and bills, not paying rent of our own.

Who in your life would want to know their gift goes twice as far?

Rise Calgary is raising $1 million for a permanent home. And one anonymous donor has started us off with $250,000. 🧡

For over 25 years, we've helped Calgarians catch up on rent and bills, so one hard month doesn't cost them their home. With the cost of living where it is, that help matters more than ever.

We've always rented, and our rent keeps going up. A space of our own means more privacy for the people we serve and more of our budget going to programs, not rent.

Thank you to our donor for getting us started. Help us rise. Link to donate (your gift will be matched): https://www.zeffy.com/en-CA/donation-form/help-us-rise-a-permanent-home-for-greater-impact-double-your-gift-today

What would a permanent home for Rise mean to your community?

Happy Thanksgiving from all of us at Rise Calgary. 🧡

For over 25 years, Calgarians have trusted us when things got hard. We're grateful for every person who's walked through our doors, and for the staff, volunteers, students and donors who've been there for them.

We have something big to share this week. Stay tuned.

What are you grateful for this year?

What do board members even do? More than you'd think, and maybe something you'd be great at.

Rise Calgary is growing its board of directors, and we're looking for people who want to help shape the future of a nonprofit working to end poverty in our city.

If you've got expertise in finance, HR, law, tech, or governance, we'd love to hear from you. And if you've never sat on a board before? That's completely okay. Everyone has something to bring.

Curious? Learn more and put your name forward at the link in bio.

Calgary is growing fast, and so is the need for the services that help people stay stable. More families than ever are turning to free tax filing, emergency aid, and benefits navigation to get through tough moments.

We're building to meet that need, and we're proud to welcome Mirza Ali Wasiq as our new Director of Development.

Mirza brings more than 16 years of experience in fund development and organizational leadership across nonprofit, international development, and private-sector work in Canada and around the world. He joins us to help grow the resources that make our work possible.

As Calgary rises, we're making sure no Calgarian gets left behind. Welcome, Mirza.

The harm of residential schools didn't end when the schools closed. It still shapes housing, income and health for many families in our city, and we see that in our work every day.

That's why our Calgary offices are open today. The work doesn't pause.

If today is hard, the Hope for Wellness Helpline is available 24/7 at 1-855-242-3310, or by online chat at hopeforwellness.ca. You can also reach Distress Centre Calgary anytime at 403-266-4357.

We’re redefining case management. Come see for yourself how we’re transforming the way our team works, collaborates, and supports our clients.

Thank you, Rise Calgary, for having us! 💙

We were so excited to join the Rise team last night for their Annual General Meeting and to share a closer look at the work we’ve been building together.

It was a great opportunity to see the impact of this partnership in action — from the people behind the work to the tools and systems helping Rise continue to respond to growing demand.

We’re proud of what we’ve been able to build alongside the Rise team, and even more excited about what’s still ahead.

Thank you to everyone who welcomed us, shared their work, and helped make the evening such a great one!

Here’s to the work already underway — and what’s next.💙

What a night. On September 22, we opened our doors to show how Rise is working differently, and the room was full of great conversations and curious minds.

A big thank you to all the partner agencies who came out. It meant a lot to share the night with you.
