At Bethany, Service Excellence is our way of being. It is the roadmap that empowers each of us and reflects the everyday actions, compassion, leadership, and care that help bring our mission of Creating Caring Communities to life.

Earlier this month, we hosted our 2025 Service Excellence Awards Ceremony, a wonderful celebration of the many ways Bethany employees demonstrate our values every day.

138 employees were nominated through 195 nominations, each recognizing meaningful contributions made across our communities.

Over the coming weeks, we’ll be highlighting each award category and sharing more about the individuals behind the nominations.

Congratulations to all of this year’s finalists, honourees, and nominees. Thank you for the incredible impact you make in the lives of our residents, families, colleagues, and communities.

Thoughtful, person-centred care makes a meaningful difference in the lives of residents and families. This National Nursing Week, we’re proud to recognize Jade, Licensed Practical Nurse and finalist for Bethany’s Excellence in Continuous Improvement Award this year.

Jade was recognized for consistently strengthening care for residents and families at Bethany Cochrane through ethical, trauma-informed practices in her daily work. Through careful observation, she identifies factors affecting residents’ emotional well-being and advocates for approaches that prioritize safety, dignity, and understanding. She asks thoughtful questions and ensures resident histories and preferences are considered in care decisions, helping staff respond in more supportive and respectful ways.

By leading with empathy, curiosity, and respect, Jade helps create an environment where residents feel supported and understood.

Congratulations, Jade, and thank you to all our nurses for the compassion and advocacy you bring to Bethany every day.

Today, we celebrate the mothers, grandmothers, and great-grandmothers who are part of our Bethany communities.

Through their love, strength, and care, they’ve shaped generations in profound ways.

We also hold space for those who may be missing a mother or finding the day difficult.

Sending love to all who need it and wishing those who celebrate a wonderful Mother’s Day. 💐
