Celebrating BC Non-Profit Recognition Day!

Behind every strong community are people and organizations working to make a difference.

Today, we celebrate the incredible contributions of non-profit organizations across British Columbia. From delivering essential services and creating opportunities to building partnerships and responding to local needs, non-profits play a vital role in making our communities stronger, more inclusive, and more connected.

And here on the North Island, that's a story we know a little something about!

This year, NIEFS celebrates 40 years of serving the people, employers, and communities of Vancouver Island North.

What began in 1986 as a youth employment initiative has grown into an organization supporting people at every stage of their employment journey, helping employers build their workforces, and working alongside community partners to respond to the changing needs of our region.

Four decades later, our commitment remains the same: creating opportunities, building connections, and helping our communities thrive.

We're so proud to be part of BC's non-profit sector and grateful for the dedicated people, organizations, and community partners who make this work possible.

40 Years Strong Together. And still growing.
