✅Charge devices on a hard, flat surface.

Charging your phone in bed or leaving a laptop on a soft couch or blanket is dangerous. These soft places block vents and eliminate the devices ability to dissipate heat, causing them to overheat and catch fire.

If you have teens who take their phones to bed, have a talk with them about why this is important. Keeping devices safe helps keep everyone safe!

🔥 Fire Prevention Week October 4th - 10th 🔥

This year’s focus is Charge Into Fire Safety- Ways we can prevent lithium ion battery fires.

Instead of an Open House, we have local elementary school visits, fire safety training with the local apartment buildings and some station visits. Keep an eye on our page all week to see some more safe charging tips!

🚨🚨🚨FYI Brock Township Fire Department will be conducting tanker shuttle accreditation on Saturday September 26, 2026, for approximately 2 hours beginning at 10:00 am in the Cannington area. During this exercise you will hear the sirens from the fire trucks conducting this exercise. This is only an exercise.
