When PEI Liberals meet to confirm their new Leader on Sunday, they will be joined by one of Canada’s most recognized politicians, the Honourable Ginette Petitpas Taylor.
Ms. Petitpas Taylor was first elected in 2015 and re-elected every election since. She has served as Deputy Whip of the Liberal caucus, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance, Minister of Health, Minister of Official Languages and Minister responsible for the Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), Minister of Veterans Affairs and Associate Minister of National Defence, and President of the Treasury Board. She is currently the Chair of the Canada-France Inter-Parliamentary Association (CAFR) and sits on the National Security and Intelligence Committee of Parliamentarians (NSICOP).
The PEI Liberal Party is stepping forward at a time when the Province is facing many challenges. Ms. Petitas Taylor’s message will highlight the importance of maintaining Liberal Party values in the face of these challenges.
The Convention begins at 3:00 p.m. at the Delta Prince Edward. Ms. Petitpas Taylor is scheduled to speak at 3:40 p.m.
