Congratulations to all of the trustee candidates who put their names forward to work on behalf of students, staff, and families in Chilliwack. The official election results are now available on the City of Chilliwack's website.

Elected trustees will take the oath of office in early November. An Inaugural / Special Regular Meeting will take place on Tuesday, November 17th.

Schools will be closed on Friday, October 23 for a province-wide professional development day. These non-instructional days give educators time to learn and collaborate. Just as students continue to learn and develop new skills, teachers do, too!

Happy 70th anniversary to Sardis Secondary School! Founded in 1956 as Sardis Junior High School, the school has grown and changed over the past 70 years, including opening a new addition in September. Staff, alumni, students and the community gathered to celebrate this milestone on Friday, October 16th 🎉

District and school flags will be flown at half-mast until further notice in acknowledgement of the tragic incident that occurred at Canadian Forces Base Wainwright on October 17.

At this time, our thoughts are with the families, friends, and colleagues of those who lost their lives, those injured, and the wider military community.

It is with profound sadness that we confirm that Sergeant Morgan Wong, Private Shaun Farrell, Private Aidan Goulding, and Private Hayden Lykkemark lost their lives during a fire-related training incident at CFB Wainwright at approximately 4 p.m. MDT yesterday. Thirty-nine additional members sustained injuries.
