Today, students from Central Huron Secondary School and St. Anne's began painting one of two commemorative crosswalks. This crosswalk, located across Rattenbury St. E commemorates the Cenotaph in Library Park and the second crosswalk will be painted across Kirk Street in front of the Harry B Miner Clinton Legion Branch 140 to commemorate their 100th Anniversary.

The Municipality of Central Huron is proud to honour those who have served and those who continue to serve. When the crosswalks are completed, we encourage residents to take a quiet moment of reflection when passing by.

Community well-being requires “housing stabilization”:

• A safe, suitable place to live (not overcrowded, not unsafe)

• Affordable costs (rent + utilities that fit the household budget)

• Reliable and adequate income (employment, social assistance, pensions, benefits)

• Supports that match the need (mental health, addictions, disability, seniors supports, newcomer supports)

• Basic needs covered (food access, transportation, childcare)

• Good landlord–tenant relationships and help resolving issues early

• Stability services like eviction prevention, rent banks, arrears help, and housing workers

Don’t just vote—ask. What will your candidates do if elected?
