Our LINC and Foundations classes have been learning about civic participation by running their own mock elections. Earlier today, students hosted a provincial mock election to understand how voting works in British Columbia. Last week, they also practiced a municipal mock election to see how local decisions shape daily life.

With the provincial election coming up, we encourage everyone to take part in advance voting or on Oct 24. You can find out where to vote and what you need to bring at the Elections BC website: https://elections.bc.ca/2026-provincial-election/where-to-vote/

September has been a quick and energizing start to the school year, already filled with moments of movement, learning and connection.

From our LINC students enjoying their break time walk to the nearby forest creek as a group, to our English language learners taking part in the school hosted Terry Fox Run and running and walking together to help , the month has been full of community
spirit.

We closed September with a meaningful Truth and Reconciliation presentation from Guest Speaker Ernie Cardinal, who shared Indigenous histories, experiences and perspectives, as well as encouraged thoughtful reflection on respectful relationships and reconciliation
in Canada.

A strong beginning to the year and a promising road ahead for learning, growth and transformation.

Today, we celebrate World Teachers’ Day and the adult educators who make learning feel possible, both in our programs and around the world.

Their patience, kindness, and steady support help adults build new skills, grow confidence, and find their place in learning again.

To our teachers, and to all teachers who welcome every learner, create inclusive spaces, and change lives every day, thank you.

You make brighter futures happen.
