Our volunteers are THE best, and they make a world of difference to our library life.

Just this week we had the Book Processing Team, Morning Shelvers, Gardeners Extraordinaire, Front Desk Support, Chess Club (Coordinator and VolunTeen) for programming, and the Friends of the Library’s Super Crew for our Fall Book Sale bonanza. (There are still a few hours to grab great titles by the way, Saturday, 10 - noon).

We’ve only captured a few here, but we are so very grateful for each person’s contributions.

In 2025, 120+ volunteers provided more than 4,000 hours to library services.

We want to recognize each gift of time, effort, and care this Ontario Public Libraries Week.

That includes you, Gary Festerini, and all of the beautiful tables, benches, and book or poetry boxes you have made and kindly donated to our library!

WHERE did Wednesday go?? Mid-OPLW, we want to give a big shout out to the local businesses that support our library in so many ways. To name just a few ...

We could not go through winter without Maven Catering's coffee and scones.

Our mission is "to be the community's living room." Is this possible without coffee and tea by the fireplace? Most weeks, about 1,000 people come through the doors to learn, borrow, play, and "be". Maven helps foster connection and enjoyment in our space, Monday to Friday (cash, while supplies last), October to May, and we LOVE it.

Having Saturday Morning in our community has been a game changer. Shared passions, shared programming goals, great benefit, and quick access to amazing titles. Did you know that Writers' Unite, for example, now meets at Saturday Morning under Salina's direction? We are grateful for all of the ways that neighbours can share good stories, right here at home.

And then there's Long Shots. Our Friends of the Library were the delighted recipients of their generous donation from Trivia Night! Those funds will help with special programming and the purchase of new furniture and equipment.

Our heartfelt thanks to every business and organization that contributes to our community space!

Happy Ontario Public Libraries Week!

Celebrate with us by checking out something new! Maybe that's our paper shredder, an Ontario Parks pass, or our light therapy lamp.

The other week Ms. Ungrin borrowed the library's All-terrain Rollator Walker so that the class visit to Shaw Woods was more accessible and enjoyable for all students!

Stop by to ask us about our "Library of Things" and Hub equipment today.
