Have you booked your flu and COVID-19 vaccine yet? 💉

The vaccination campaign against respiratory viruses is now underway in the Laurentians, and appointment time slots are open. We are sharing this information from Santé Québec Laurentides because these viruses can cause serious complications, especially for people at higher risk.

The flu and COVID-19 vaccines are recommended and offered free of charge to:
✅ People aged 65 and over
✅ People aged 6 months and over living with a chronic illness (such as diabetes, a weakened immune system, or heart, lung or kidney disease)
✅ Pregnant women
✅ Health workers in contact with vulnerable people

People aged 75 and over can also get the free vaccine against respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), which can be given at the same time as the flu and COVID-19 vaccines. A preventive treatment against serious RSV infections is also offered to babies and newborns.

📅 Book online at www.clicsante.ca or by phone at 1 877 644-4545.

October anniversaries at 4Korners! 🎉
This month, we’re celebrating a big milestone: Kennedy and Katie have both been with 4Korners for 4 years!

Their paths show how 4Korners grows with the needs of our community. Katie started as our Activity Coordinator for Seniors and Caregivers, and today leads our Social and Economic Development work as a manager. Kennedy helped grow our Youth and Mental Health program, and now supports English speakers across the Laurentians as our Patient Navigator, a brand new service. Over four years, we’ve watched both of them evolve with care, commitment, and perseverance.

Kennedy and Katie, thank you for four great years of dedication to our community. Here’s to many more years of growth! 💜

Pumpkins, a corn maze and lots of little smiles! 🎃

Last week, our Play to Learn and Parenting Circle families spent the day at a pumpkin patch with Maxime and Mirianna. The kids met the farm animals, wandered through the corn maze and said hello to some (not so) scary Halloween decorations. Parents and kids enjoyed the fall colours and a fun day out together. 🍂

Who can help you find your way through the healthcare system, in English? 🩺 Meet Kennedy, our Patient Navigator, who has been out and about in the Laurentians to meet you!

From Wentworth to Saint-Eustache, and many places in between, Kennedy has been visiting community groups to explain what the Patient Navigator Service offers: free, confidential support for English speakers who need help with the complexities of receiving healthcare. From reducing stress to bridging communication gaps with medical staff, a navigator is there so you never have to go through the system alone.

A heartfelt thank you to each organization that invited Kennedy to present! Your invitations and your warm welcome mean so much to us. 💜

What happens when schools, health, and community partners sit at the same table? 🤝 Great conversations!

Last Wednesday, we hosted LESAN, “Let’s Talk Education,” at our Sainte-Thérèse office, planned in collaboration with PREL - Partenaires pour la réussite éducative dans les Laurentides and the Sir Wilfrid Laurier School Board .

Participants heard fromSanté Québec Laurentides (JED program), Centre d'assistance et d'accompagnement aux plaintes des Laurentides, the ELAN Quebec ArtistsInspire project, PREL, and our own team, who shared our services and Patient Navigator programs.

We were glad to welcome so many people from the school board, and the interest in the presentations, the networking, and the group work was wonderful. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and especially to PREL and the school board for partnering with us! 💜

What does a team day at 4Korners look like? 💜

Yesterday, our team came together in Deux-Montagnes for our staff meeting. We spent the morning in program teams reviewing our progress on our strategic plan, took time to recognize each other’s work, and shared a pizza lunch.

In the afternoon, we welcomed Jacques Bélanger of FADOQ - Région des Laurentides, who shared a presentation with our team. Thank you, Jacques, for your time and for everything you do for seniors in our region!

Learning together, celebrating each other, and staying on the same page: that’s how we keep serving our community. 🌟

Have you ever left a medical appointment unsure of what was said? 🩺

Canadian Patient Safety Week starts today, and one big part of secure care is understanding your care.

When you’re an English speaker, language gaps can make that harder. That’s where our Patient Navigation Network - PNN comes in. Kennedy offers free, confidential support to help English speakers in the Laurentians get through the health and social services system, so you can ask questions, understand your options, and feel confident about your care.

Healthcare Excellence Canada is sharing ideas all week on what shapes safer care. Check out their post below to join in. 💜
