June is National Indigenous History Month🧡
WECAN recognizes and honours the histories, cultures, contributions, and resilience of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis Peoples. We are grateful to operate on the traditional territories of many Indigenous Peoples, whose knowledge and values of cooperation, sharing, celebration, and connection to food continue to inspire our work.
As we strive to improve food security and access to healthy, affordable food for all, we acknowledge the lasting impacts of colonization on Indigenous food systems, nutrition, and well-being.
This month is an opportunity to listen, learn, reflect, and honour Indigenous voices and communities.
