Providing services for Indigenous students and learning opportunities for Division staff

National Indigenous History Month 05/29/2026

As we mark the 30th anniversary of National Indigenous Peoples Day, Edmonton Catholic Schools invites students and staff to take part in a 15-day Virtual Calendar that brings learning to life.
Each school day leading up to June 21 features a simple activity that offers a new opportunity to explore Indigenous perspectives, stories, and teachings as part of National Indigenous History Month.

Activities are designed to spark curiosity, encourage respectful learning, and support meaningful conversations about the diverse cultures and experiences of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples across Canada.

Want to view the calendar? Check it on our ECSD site here!

National Indigenous History Month June is National Indigenous History Month, a time to learn about and honour the unique cultures, traditions, and experiences of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples, who have lived on this land since time immemorial and continue to shape Canada today.

Our students spent the day at the seniors centre making bee hotels and helping out. 🐝

So proud of how they showed up, had fun and represented Braided Journeys and Holy Trinity in such a good way.

🍕🎉 What a fantastic way to wrap up Transition Sessions!

Students from H. E. Beriault Catholic Junior High School had an amazing time at Domino’s Pizza for their final Transition to 10 session! 🙌 They got a behind-the-scenes look at Domino’s corporate goals and employee expectations, learned what it’s really like to work there—from daily operations to teamwork—and even had the chance to make their own delicious pizzas! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

A big thank you to Domino's Pizza Edmonton for being such a welcoming corporation and for building strong connections within the community. 💙
