Speeding continues to drive serious crashes at intersections across our city.
Here’s what we’re seeing at locations you might recognize:
🚦 63 Ave and 99 St saw a 140% increase in speeding over two years, with 26 crashes in 2024 alone.
🚦 Rossdale Rd and 97 Ave sees over 9,000 speed violations a year and saw 34 crashes in 2024.
🚦 High speed violations (20+ km/h over) at Manning Dr and 153 Ave have gone up 24% between 2022 and 2024.
🚦 23 Ave and Terwillegar Dr saw a 50% increase in speeding over two years and had 3 major injury crashes during the same period.
🚦 170 St and 95 Ave sees over 7,900 violations per year and had 115 crashes between 2022 and 2024. 80% of the crashes had speed related causes.
🚦 Speeding increased by 9% between 2022 and 2024 at 23 Ave and 66 St. During the same period, high speed violations (20+ km/h over) increased by 25%.
🚦 178 St and 100 Ave saw 112 crashes between 2022 and 2024. 69% of those crashes had speed related causes.
🚦 At 75 St and 98 Ave, the number of drivers travelling more than 20km/h over the limit increased by 204% between 2024 and 2025.
These numbers represent real risk on our streets.

Construction continues on the Dawson Bridge Rehabilitation Project.
Upcoming traffic impacts include:
🚧 Single-lane closures beginning June 1 for approximately two weeks.
🚧Overnight bridge closures starting at 8 pm on May 29 and June 12
🚧Full weekend closures for bridge barrier replacement:
📆June 17 at 7 pm to June 22 at 5 am
📆June 26 at 7 pm to June 29 at 5 am
During single-lane operations, temporary traffic signals will direct vehicles through the work zone. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
Please plan ahead, expect delays and use alternative routes where possible.

That’s a wrap for Spring Sweep. The residential parking ban ends at 7pm tonight.
Enjoy the roads and drive safely.
Sweeping crews continue on main roads this weekend and some alleys in the coming weeks.
Crews work throughout the City all summer long, so contact 311 if you spot an area of roadway or trail that needs more sweeping.
