After careful consideration La Perle Community League has made the difficult decision to cancel Stars & Cars 2026.
This decision was not made lightly.
Due to ongoing logistical challenges, difficulties securing event suppliers, uncertainty surrounding the upcoming neighbourhood renewal construction project, a shortage of volunteers, and the significant demands placed on our small three-person planning committee we are unable to deliver the high-quality experience our community deserves.
Stars & Cars has been one of La Perle's signature events and we are incredibly grateful to the volunteers, sponsors, vendors, entertainers, first responders, car enthusiasts and community members who have supported it over the years. The event's success has always depended on community involvement and we thank everyone who has contributed their time, energy, and enthusiasm.
We know many residents look forward to Stars & Cars each year, and we are pleased to announce that we will be pivoting some of our plans into a smaller, Free community event also scheduled for July 18, 2026. We will post more details as plans are finalized. We look forward to welcoming the community there and continuing to create opportunities for neighbours to connect and celebrate together!
We recognize that this news may be disappointing, but we hope it also highlights the critical role volunteers play in making community events possible.
If you are interested in helping shape future events in La Perle we encourage you to get involved with the Community League's volunteer efforts. Volunteer support is essential to sustaining community programs and events and ensuring their ongoing success.
Thank you for your understanding and continued support of the La Perle Community League!
