🍂 Before you turn up the heat, take a few steps to keep your home safe!

✅ Have your furnace or other fuel-burning heating equipment serviced by a qualified professional

✅ Test ALL your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms by pressing the test button

✅ Keep anything that can burn at least 1 metre or 3' from any heat source, like space heaters, fireplaces, and furnaces

Carbon monoxide (CO) is invisible, odourless, and deadly. If your CO alarm sounds, get everyone outside to fresh air and call 9-1-1.

Stay warm and stay safe this fall!

All flags at Township of Woolwich facilities, including the cenotaph, will be lowered to half-staff as a mark of respect and remembrance, following the tragic events at Canadian Forces Base in Wainwright, Alberta.

Our thoughts are with the service members, their families, loved ones, and the entire Canadian Armed Forces and the Wainwright community during this difficult time.

On behalf of the Township of Woolwich, we extend our deepest condolences. Our community joins Canadians across the country in mourning and honouring those who have dedicated their lives to serving our nation.

When charging on a plane, keep portable charging devices on the tray table. Do not charge devices in overhead compartments and never charge e-cigarettes or vapes on a plane. If a battery overheats or fails, it is important for the flight crew to be able to respond quickly.
