Social media for your business shouldn’t require a mini identity crisis every time you open Instagram. 😅

What should I post?
Does this photo look good enough?
Do people actually care about this?
Wait… when did I last post?

If that sounds all too familiar, join us for Social Media Made Doable with Ashley Rowe of The New Leaf Collective.

This hands-on workshop is all about building a social media routine that works for a real small business - not one with a full marketing department and endless time to make content.

You’ll leave with:
• A one-week content plan
• Three drafted posts
• Photos, graphics or video to go with them
• Repeatable ideas for what to post next
• A simple process you can use again

📅 Tuesday, November 3
⏰ 10 a.m.–12 p.m.
📍 Benmiller Community Hall
🎟️ $30 + HST

Bring your phone or laptop. Bring what you know about your business. We’ll help you turn it into content.

Boosting a Facebook or Instagram post is the easy part. Figuring out who saw it, what happened next and whether it was worth the money can be a lot less clear.

Join us on October 28 for Beyond Boosted Posts: Meta Ads for Local Businesses, a webinar led by digital ad strategist Amy Lobb of Salt Leaf Agency, to take some of the mystery out of paid social media. You’ll get a better idea of where your money is going and what you’re getting back.

We’ll look at:
• What’s different about boosted posts and Meta Ads Manager
• How to choose an ad goal that matches what you’re trying to do
• Ways to reach the right local audience
• How much to spend when you’re testing an idea
• Which numbers are actually worth paying attention to
• When paid ads may be worth your money — and when they may not be

📅 Wednesday, October 28
⏰ 1 - 3 p.m.
💻 Online
🎟️ $20 + HST

This Thanksgiving, we’re feeling grateful for the people behind Huron County businesses.

The early mornings. The late nights. The ideas scribbled on scraps of paper. The tough decisions, small wins and steady progress that often happen behind the scenes.

Running a business takes a lot, and it’s worth taking a moment to notice how far you’ve come.

We’re thankful to work alongside aspiring and existing business owners across Huron County, and to be part of a community that supports local ideas, local jobs and local growth.

Happy Thanksgiving from the Huron Business Centre. 🧡

You’ve got great products. But are customers actually noticing them? 👀

The afternoon workshop at Main Street Matters is all about looking at your shop with fresh eyes.

Lana De Cosimo is a Visual Presentation Specialist and the face behind Display Attic (Display Attic). With more than 30 years in the retail industry, she’s worked with a wide range of brands to transform in-store environments, make better use of selling space and strengthen how businesses present themselves to customers.

During this hands-on visual merchandising workshop, Lana will share ideas and approaches you can adapt to your own shop.

You'll learn visual merchandising concepts and quick tips to help you make a big impact with just a few small changes. Bring your questions and photos/video of your space for personalized support during the session.

PLUS one business owner who attends the workshop will have the opportunity to win a free three-hour, one-on-one Visual Merchandising Consultation with Lana!

Lana will spend time in the winning business getting to know its customers, goals and challenges before identifying ways the space could work harder.

No giant makeover required. Sometimes changing how you use and present what you already have can make a big difference.

Bring your questions. Bring photos of your store. Bring that display you’ve moved three times and still aren’t quite sure about.

You can register for the afternoon workshop on its own or choose the full-day ticket and join us for the morning too.

📅 Thursday, Oct. 22
📍 Goderich Legion Branch 109 (56 Kingston St., Goderich)
🎟️ Choose your ticket: https://main-st-matters.eventbrite.com/

Main Street Matters is presented by Huron Business Centre, in partnership with the Town of Goderich and Downtown Goderich, in celebration of Canada’s Small Business Week.

Wondering what actually happens when you meet with us for a 1:1 business consultation?

You might picture yourself sitting across from someone in a suit and tie who expects a polished business plan, five years of financial projections and a perfectly prepared list of questions.

That’s not how it works at the Huron Business Centre. We almost never wear a suit and tie! 😉

When you book a business advisory consultation with us, you can bring us the idea you’ve only explained to one other person, the numbers you don’t quite understand, or the big decision that’s been sitting on your to-do list for months.

You don’t need to organize it into a presentation first. You don’t even need to know exactly what you’re asking!

Our Business Advisors’ job is to listen, ask clarifying questions, and help you sort through what comes next.

We won’t pretend to have every answer, and we may not solve every challenge in one conversation, but we’ll help you sort through your options and connect you with resources or people who fit your needs.

Our goal is simple: for you to leave with more clarity and a next step.

You don’t have to wait until a question or problem feels urgent. Ready to talk it through?

It’s National Coaches Day, so it feels like a good time to introduce the people we very intentionally *don’t* call business coaches. 😉

Meet our ⭐ Business Advisors ⭐ : Heather and Tricia.

“Coach” can mean a lot of things. Our role is a little more specific: we help aspiring and existing business owners sort through ideas, work through challenges, find useful resources and figure out the next step that makes sense for their business.

That might mean talking through a business plan, reviewing your numbers, exploring funding, strengthening your marketing or simply helping you get unstuck.

No whistles. No clipboards. Just experienced local advisors, honest conversations and support that meets you where you are.

Happy National Coaches Day to all the coaches out there — and a hello from our Business Advisors here at Huron Business Centre. 👋📋🧢
