👻 DON’T GHOST YOUR MENTAL HEALTH! 👻

This Halloween, your Mental Health Services Team has a few friendly (not-so-spooky) reminders for your mind, body, heart and spirit!

👻 Don’t ghost your feelings! Your feelings aren’t something to be afraid of. Make space for them, acknowledge them, and give yourself permission to talk about them.

🎃 Don’t ghost your counsellor! Checking in is always a treat! You don’t have to wait until things feel scary or overwhelming to reach out.

🕸️ Don’t let stress haunt you! Take a mindful moment. Breathe deeply, get outside, connect with the land, or spend time with someone who brings you peace.

🍬 Treat yourself with kindness! Rest is productive, boundaries are healthy, and you deserve care too.

🦇 Don’t bottle up your worries! Reach out to someone you trust. Sharing what’s weighing on your heart can make the load feel a little lighter.

🌿 Reconnect with what grounds you. Spend time on the land, visit with an Elder or Knowledge Keeper, participate in cultural activities, smudge, enjoy a cup of tea, or simply take a moment to connect with yourself.

NEED A LITTLE EXTRA SUPPORT?

There are many ways to access mental wellness support, including Indigenous-led and culturally grounded services:

🌿 Your local Mental Health Services Team – We’re here to listen, support, and walk alongside you. You don’t have to navigate life’s challenges alone.

🧡 Talk 4 Healing – A culturally grounded, confidential helpline offering support to Indigenous women and their families through phone, text and online chat, 24/7. Support is available in 14 Indigenous languages, including Algonquin.

📞 1-855-554-HEAL

🌿 Noojimo Health – Indigenous-owned and led virtual counselling services, connecting First Nations, Inuit and Métis individuals and families with Indigenous mental health professionals in a culturally safe space.

📞 1-833-277-5678
🌐 www.noojimohealth.ca

🪶 Hope for Wellness Helpline – Confidential, culturally informed emotional support and crisis intervention for Indigenous people across Canada, available 24/7.

📞 1-855-242-3310
🌐 www.hopeforwellness.ca

🧡 Remember: Healing isn’t always a straight path. Sometimes it’s a conversation, sometimes it’s reconnecting with culture, sometimes it’s asking for help, and sometimes it’s simply taking the next small step.

Asking for support isn’t scary. You are worthy of care, connection and wellness.

Wishing everyone a safe, happy and spook-tacular Halloween!

With care,
Your Mental Health Services Team 👻🎃

A quick apology for last week, as some unexpected circumstances came up and class unfortunately had to be cancelled. We’re sorry we weren’t able to give you advance notice, and we appreciate your understanding!

🎃 A reminder: There will be no chair exercise class next Wednesday, October 28th, as the Manor will be hosting a Halloween event.
