Our first APPLE Schools taste test of the year was Persimmons!

Persimmon is an orange fall fruit originally from Eastern Asian. It has a sweet flavour, almost a mix of peach and vanilla. They contain vitamin A and vitamin C along with fibre.

Persimmons can be eaten whole and do not need to be peeled or cored like certain fruit. The skin is edible, but some people choose to eat around it.

Thank you to Miss Zadderey and her Grade 8 Foods Class for preparing and organizing the persimmons for the whole school.
