National Disability Employment Awareness Month

At Inclusion West Niagara, we're proud to celebrate the opening of our Raw Carrot Social Franchise, creating meaningful employment opportunities for people who may face barriers to traditional workplaces.

Through supportive, hands-on work, team members build skills, gain valuable experience, and contribute to their community while preparing and packaging delicious, locally made Raw Carrot soups. From food preparation and production to packaging and distribution, team members play an important role in bringing these healthy, handcrafted soups to our community.

The Raw Carrot demonstrates how inclusive employment creates opportunities for people to use their strengths, develop new skills, and make meaningful contributions in a supportive environment.

Today is Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.

Today we honour the Survivors of residential schools and remember the children who never came home.

The residential school system separated Indigenous children from their families, cultures, and communities, leaving a lasting legacy of trauma that continues to affect generations today.

On the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we encourage everyone to take time to learn, listen, and reflect.

Increasing our understanding of this history is about more than looking back. It is about acknowledging the truth, honouring Survivors and their families, and remembering the children who never returned home. Through reflection and learning, we can contribute to a path toward healing, respect, and reconciliation.
