Five years of change captured from above.

Watch the Cogswell District transform through five years of drone footage, capturing the evolution of one of the municipality’s most ambitious city-building projects. What was once a major interchange is now a new, connected neighbourhood, bringing together public spaces, art installations and new connections between downtown, the north end and the Halifax Waterfront.

What’s next? Halifax Regional Council is reviewing detailed land-use policies, affordable housing requirements, and development guidelines that will help shape future development on the newly created municipal parcels.

During the first round of engagement for the Mill Cove Land Use Planning project, community members shared ideas for the future of the Mill Cove area. Those insights helped inform the draft vision and guiding principles for the project. In this second round of engagement, we're inviting residents and interest holders to review the proposed approach and options and provide feedback before policy recommendations are presented to Regional Council for consideration.

You are invited to attend the public open house on Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2026, at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 95, 1772 Bedford Highway, Bedford. Sessions will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8:30 p.m.

Even better, paying this way means you can benefit from fare capping. Watch the video to learn how it works.

This new feature is a big step toward “Tap to Pay”, coming soon, which will allow riders to use a contactless credit or debit card, Apple Pay or Google Pay to pay for fares.
