Truth and Reconciliation calls on Canadians to learn about the recognize the lasting impacts of Canada’s Residential School system.

Books are a great place to continue your learning! Here are just a few that are currently on display at the Patrick Power Library to help you get started.

Today is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, a day dedicated to honouring Residential School Survivors, their families, and communities.

This day asks Canadians to recognize and reflect on the lasting impacts of Canada’s Residential School system, and the 140 federally run schools that operated between 1867 and 1996.

Unsure of where to begin? The Patrick Power Library has resources (such as books and articles) written by survivors and those effected. Truth & Reconciliation buttons are also available for pick-up at the Activity Table.

We are open today from 11am to 7pm.
