We are a vibrant social enterprise that specializes in home decor, catering, & business services

New Leaf Enterprises was one of the first social enterprises in Nova Scotia. Our business centre includes a full kitchen operated by our staff and by our trainees. New Leaf offers catering services for businesses and organizations in the Halifax Regional Municipality area, and it allows trainees an opportunity to gain valuable work experience. Our dedicated and professional trainees run a cafeteria at the Nova Scotia Rehabilitation Centre, another at O’Regan’s Automotive Group dealership on Kempt Road and our very own New Leaf Café located at our Centre on Fielding Ave in Burnside. New Leaf Enterprises also offers direct mail processing services for several businesses, in addition to producing beautiful home décor products for retail sale. Services provided by New Leaf Enterprises also generate revenue, which is reinvested into our programs so we can help grow our capacity to help Nova Scotians with disabilities. Our Employment Support Program works with employers in the community and our clients to facilitate job training and subsequent employment within the labour market. This highly successful program for youth and adults has generated multiple employment partnerships both in the private business and government sectors. What better way to celebrate Giving Tuesday than by bringing people together?

We're inviting adults aged 55+ to join us for a FREE community lunch filled with good food, friendly faces, and great conversation!

Whether you're looking to meet new people, catch up with friends, or simply enjoy a delicious lunch in good company, we'd love to have you join us!

What's on the menu?
Homemade chicken noodle soup, coffee, tea, and something sweet!

New Leaf got into the Halloween spirit with costumes,art activities, and spooky sensory buckets! Participants explored mystery buckets filled with “monster eggs,” “ghost intestines,” and “eyeballs,” using their detective skills to guess what was hiding inside. 🕷️🧡

Getting into the Halloween spirit in the program room!

This morning, our clients had a great time carving and painting pumpkins to celebrate Halloween. From scooping out the pumpkin guts to carving creative designs and adding colourful paint, everyone got involved in the fun! 🎃

Busy in the kitchen at New Leaf!

Throughout the week, our program room participants get hands-on experience preparing food and baked goods for our cafe. Today’s tasks included chocolate chip muffins, banana bread, carrot cake, wrapping brownies, and washing dishes.

These activities help participants build valuable kitchen skills, teamwork, and confidence in a supportive environment.
